NCFE Level 2 Creating a Business Start-Up

This qualification is the right choice for you if you are looking to build the skills and knowledge needed to develop a business start-up. It will give you an understanding of the initial processes and requirements of a business start-up, knowledge of the first steps in creating a business start-up, including the marketing, legal and financial requirements, and an understanding of how to write a business plan.

Employability Level 2

This employability qualification is available for learners who are new to the employment market and are actively seeking employment, who are changing careers or who have taken a career break to care for children for example. It will provide individuals with the knowledge and understanding needed to enhance their success in employment in a range of different occupational sectors.

CSCS Practise

Following on from our learner feedback we have developed this section to give additional opportunity for learners to access the practise questions for the test.

We know not everyone passes first time and this section has been created to supported those learners who may need a second shot at the test.

ETA Level 1 Securing Employment / Construction

This course provides learners with an introduction to the construction industry with particular emphasis on construction site health and safety. It also contains employability training that provides learners with valuable skills regarding job-match, CV writing and interview preparation.

The course concludes with the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment online test which is one of the pre-requisite qualifications necessary before candidates can sit the Construction Industry Training Board online Health, Safety and Environment test to obtain their CSCS card.

Successful candidates will acquire three separate qualifications on the course;

  • Level 1 Certificate in an Introduction to Construction
  • Level 1 certificate in Securing Employment
  • Level 1 Certificate in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment

Initial Assessments maths, English & ICT

Before we enrol you on to any course it is important for us to understand your current skill level in maths, English and ICT.

This section is designed for learners who wish to complete their initial assessments in these topics online, rather than paper-based.

Your tutor or business development manager will let you know how to get on and how to complete these should you need too.

Induction

Good inductions are vital in ensuring our learners feel safe, informed and included as well as making sure that accurate information on the expectations, privileges and staff/learner responsibilities are understood.

Level 2 Barbering

The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is a vocational qualification that has been designed to develop a limited number of barbering skills to a high level of occupational ability and will prepare you to enter the men's hairdressing sector as a unisex hairdresser. This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 years and over, entry onto this qualification can be via previous achievement of a Level 2 qualification in women's hairdressing and/or a successful skills test and interview.

This qualification includes the units to prepare you to work effectively as a junior unisex hairdresser, including: client consultation for hair services, cutting men's hair, cutting facial hair and following health and safety in the salon.

This qualification will develop you knowledge, understanding and skills to enable you to advise and consult with men on the type of hair cut and facial hair shaping the way they want, but just as importantly what is suitable for them. You will also learn how to work in a safe manner throughout the service protecting both yourself and your clients.

What could this qualification lead to?

This qualification will prepare you for employment as a junior unisex hairdresser. On completion of this qualification you will widen your career opportunities from working as a hairdresser to be able to offer unisex services through a variety of contexts, including:

- Working in a unisex hair salon
- Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings

Whilst this qualification's primary purpose is to prepare you for employment as a unisex hairdresser, you may choose to develop your skill base further by undertaking specialist qualifications at Level 3, including:

- VTCT Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Barbering
- VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Barbering
- VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Barbering Studies
